An award-winning architecture practice is seeking a Design Architect to join their Sydney studio.

The practice is recognised for delivering highly considered architecture across civic, education, cultural and public-focused projects, with a strong emphasis on design integrity and long-term impact. Their work is conceptually driven, carefully resolved and grounded in a collaborative studio culture.

You’ll be joining a team that values design thinking, open dialogue and rigorous exploration throughout the design process. The studio environment is highly collaborative, with strong exposure to senior leadership and project involvement from early stages.

Role Overview

This role is suited to a Design Architect with strong front-end capability and 10+ years’ experience within a design-led architectural practice.

You’ll be involved in the early phases of projects, contributing to design exploration, spatial planning, presentations and the development of architectural ideas through to key project milestones.

Working closely with senior design leadership, this role offers direct exposure to high-level design thinking and decision-making within the studio.

Importantly, this position represents the beginning of the dedicated design team within the Sydney studio, making it a unique opportunity for someone looking to play a foundational role in shaping the team, culture and design direction locally. You will also act as a key point of contact within the Sydney studio, helping coordinate communication, design direction and project engagement locally.

The role requires someone who is creatively driven, confident communicating ideas and comfortable taking ownership within a collaborative studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to concept design and early-stage project development
• Prepare design presentations, diagrams and visual material
• Support design development across multiple project typologies
• Collaborate closely with senior architects and project teams
• Participate in design workshops, reviews and client presentations
• Assist with planning and coordination during front-end stages

Skills & Experience

• Relevant architectural qualification (Bachelor or Master of Architecture)
• NSW Registered Architect 
• 10+ years’ experience within an architectural practice
• Strong front-end design capability across complex projects
• Experience working within an Australian design-led studio environment
• Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficiency in Revit 
• Ability to work collaboratively within a senior design-focused environment
