Quantity Surveyor (Contract)

  • Sydney or Melbourne, NSW or VIC

A nationally recognised property and infrastructure advisory consultancy is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a contract opportunity within its property team.

Working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, education, health, government and mixed-use developments, you'll join an integrated advisory environment alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and property professionals.

This is an opportunity to step into an established team, contribute immediately across active projects and gain exposure to a leading Australian consultancy without the commitment of a permanent move.

Role Overview

This role is suited to a consultancy-side Quantity Surveyor who can confidently step into active projects and support the team across both pre-contract and post-contract services.

You'll provide cost management support across the project lifecycle, working on cost planning, procurement, progress claims, variations and commercial reporting while liaising directly with clients, consultants and contractors.

As a contract member of the team, you'll be trusted to manage your own workload and contribute from the outset, while having the support of an experienced multidisciplinary team around you.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, estimates and feasibility studies across property projects
• Support procurement, tendering and tender analysis
• Prepare cost reports and provide ongoing commercial advice
• Assess progress claims, variations and project costs during construction
• Support contract administration and final account activities
• Monitor project budgets, risks and commercial outcomes
• Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors throughout project delivery
• Work alongside Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers across active projects

Skills & Experience

• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within a cost consultancy environment
• Strong understanding of pre-contract and post-contract cost management
• Experience across property projects such as commercial, education, health, government or mixed-use developments
• Strong cost planning, reporting and commercial capability
• Confident client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to step into active projects and work with a high level of autonomy
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Why This Role Stands Out

• Contract opportunity with a nationally recognised Australian advisory consultancy
• Step straight into an established pipeline of active property projects
• Work across commercial, education, health, government and mixed-use developments
• Gain exposure to an integrated advisory model alongside both Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers
• Work across the full project lifecycle rather than being limited to one stage of delivery
• Flexible working arrangements within an experienced and collaborative team
• Ideal for an experienced QS looking for their next contract without sacrificing the quality or variety of projects

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking for a contract role that offers strong project exposure, autonomy and the opportunity to work within an established multidisciplinary consultancy.
