Senior Quantity Surveyor
If you've established yourself as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your next move should give you more than another portfolio of projects to deliver.
You're looking for greater ownership, more direct relationships with clients and the opportunity to broaden your commercial experience while continuing to develop towards Associate level.
That's what makes this opportunity different.
Joining a growing cost and commercial advisory consultancy, you'll take ownership of projects across a diverse portfolio while working across both traditional Quantity Surveying and broader commercial advisory services.
You'll have the opportunity to strengthen your client-facing capability, mentor junior Quantity Surveyors and develop a broader understanding of the commercial decisions that influence projects, giving you the experience and visibility to keep progressing your career.
Why you'll enjoy this role
• Broaden your commercial experience – gain exposure to both traditional cost management and commercial advisory rather than staying within a purely QS delivery role
• Take greater ownership – lead projects across pre and post contract stages with more responsibility for commercial outcomes and client relationships
• Build your profile with clients – work directly with clients and senior stakeholders, developing the relationships and advisory capability needed at Associate level
• Start developing as a leader – mentor junior Quantity Surveyors and become a more influential member of the wider team
• Have a clear next step – continue building the commercial, client and leadership experience needed to progress towards Associate
• Work with flexibility – hybrid working with Mondays and Fridays from home and Tuesday to Thursday in the office
• Invest in your professional development – receive support towards AIQS and RICS membership and professional accreditation
• Enjoy a genuinely social team culture – team-building activities every six weeks, regular dinners and drinks, plus employee-led groups focused on training, development and social initiatives
• Gain more as your career with the business grows – additional annual leave becomes available with tenure
What you'll be doing
You'll take greater ownership of projects across both pre and post contract stages, providing cost and commercial advice from early planning and feasibility through procurement, construction and completion.
You'll manage key commercial deliverables including cost planning, estimating, procurement, tendering, reporting, forecasting, variations and progress claims while working directly with clients, consultants and contractors.
Alongside traditional Quantity Surveying, you'll gain exposure to broader commercial advisory work, helping you develop a deeper understanding of project risk, commercial strategy and the decisions that influence successful project outcomes.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll also begin taking a greater role in mentoring junior team members, managing client relationships and contributing beyond your individual project workload as you develop towards Associate level.
What you'll need
• Strong Quantity Surveying experience within a cost consultancy environment
• Experience across both pre and post contract cost management services
• Previous project exposure across health and/or education
• Strong cost planning, estimating and commercial management capability
• Confidence managing projects and dealing directly with clients and project stakeholders
• The ability to support and mentor junior Quantity Surveyors
• An interest in developing experience across both cost management and commercial advisory
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
• AIQS and/or RICS membership or progress towards professional accreditation will be highly regarded
• Full Australian working rights
About the business
This is a growing cost and commercial advisory consultancy delivering services across a diverse portfolio of projects and sectors.
What differentiates the business is its combination of traditional Quantity Surveying and broader commercial advisory services, giving its people the opportunity to develop a wider commercial skillset rather than following a purely traditional QS career path.

For a Senior Quantity Surveyor who's ready for greater ownership, stronger client exposure and a broader commercial skillset, this is an opportunity to start building the experience needed for the next step towards Associate.
