Quantity Surveyor

  • Sydney, NSW

A growing cost and commercial advisory consultancy is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Sydney team.

Working across a diverse portfolio of projects and sectors, the business provides both traditional cost management and broader commercial advisory services. You'll work across both pre-contract and post-contract services, taking greater responsibility for cost planning, estimating, procurement, reporting and project delivery while working directly with clients, consultants and contractors.

You'll also gain exposure to the commercial advisory side of the business, providing an opportunity to broaden your experience beyond traditional cost management as you progress towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, estimates and feasibility studies across different project stages
• Undertake measurement, quantity take-offs and detailed cost analysis
• Prepare and manage tender documentation, procurement and tender analysis
• Complete cost reporting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Assess variations, progress claims and project costs during construction
• Liaise directly with clients, consultants and contractors throughout project delivery
• Contribute to commercial advisory services across complex projects

Skills & Experience

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
• 2+ years' Quantity Surveying experience within a cost consultancy
• Previous project experience across health and/or education
• Experience across pre-contract and post-contract cost management services

• Confident written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build relationships with clients and project stakeholders
• Interest in developing experience across both cost management and commercial advisory
• Full Australian working rights

Why This Role Stands Out

• Work across a diverse portfolio of projects and sectors, providing broad industry exposure
• Develop experience across both traditional Quantity Surveying and commercial advisory
• Take on greater project ownership and direct client responsibility as your experience develops
• Clear opportunity to continue progressing towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level
• Hybrid working with Monday and Friday from home and Tuesday to Thursday in the office
• Support towards AIQS and RICS membership and professional accreditation
• Dedicated team-building activities every six weeks, alongside regular team dinners and drinks
• Employee-led working groups focused on social events, training and professional development
• Additional annual leave available as your tenure with the business grows
• Join a diverse and collaborative team with a genuine focus on long-term development
