Apply to Senior Interior Designer (Workplace)

Take the lead on commercial interior projects, managing design, client relationships and delivery from initial briefing through to completion.

This is an opportunity to join a boutique Surry Hills design practice working across commercial workplace, office fit-outs, refurbishments, education and hospitality projects. The studio has an established client base, including major Australian organisations, with a portfolio of award-recognised workplace interiors.

The role involves leading design development, space planning, material and furniture selections, consultant coordination and technical documentation. Revit is an important part of the studio's workflow, with responsibility for overseeing drawing packages, resolving technical issues and maintaining design quality throughout delivery.

Working within a smaller team means direct involvement across all project stages, regular contact with clients and the opportunity to guide developing designers. There is considerable autonomy in managing projects, with experienced studio directors available for support when needed.

What makes this role worth considering:

• One day WFH each week, providing flexibility around the studio schedule.

• A boutique Surry Hills studio with direct access to experienced directors and fewer layers of management.

• An established portfolio of award-recognised projects for well-known Australian organisations.

• Opportunities for professional development and progression within a smaller practice.

• A varied project portfolio across workplace, education and hospitality, offering a change from repetitive fit-out work.

What the role requires:

• Extensive commercial interior design experience, including independently managing projects from design through construction.

• Advanced Revit skills with experience producing and overseeing detailed documentation packages.

• Experience managing client relationships, consultant coordination and construction-stage delivery.

About the company

This is a boutique Sydney design practice specialising in commercial interiors, workplace environments and the improvement of existing spaces.

The studio works with a mix of private clients, businesses and property organisations, delivering projects that balance design quality with operational requirements, budgets and construction considerations.

With an established client base and a relatively small team, the practice offers a more personal working environment than a large multidisciplinary firm. The directors remain closely involved in the business, with an emphasis on maintaining design standards, supporting staff and building long-term client relationships.
