Interior Designer - Class 1

A growing architecture and interiors practice is seeking an Interior Designer to join their Sydney studio.

The practice delivers projects across residential and commercial sectors, with this particular role focused primarily on bespoke Class 1 residential projects. Their portfolio ranges from highly detailed custom homes through to larger-scale developments, giving team members exposure to projects of varying complexity and scale.

The studio environment is collaborative and hands-on, with team members working closely together across all project stages. You’ll be joining a practice that values thoughtful design, technical quality and giving individuals genuine involvement across project delivery.

Role Overview

This role is suited to an Interior Designer with 2–5 years’ experience and strong exposure to Class 1 residential projects.

You’ll work across concept design, design development, approvals and documentation, supporting projects from early design through to construction. This role offers broad project involvement and would suit someone who enjoys balancing creativity with technical delivery.

Working in ArchiCAD, you’ll collaborate closely with senior team members, consultants and clients to help deliver considered residential outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare concept design, design development and documentation packages
• Support projects through DA/CDC and construction stages
• Work across bespoke Class 1 residential projects
• Assist with consultant coordination and client presentations
• Produce accurate drawings, schedules and project documentation
• Contribute across project delivery stages

Skills & Experience

• Relevant qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or similar
• 2–5 years’ experience within an interior design or architectural practice
• Strong experience working on Class 1 residential projects
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD
• Understanding of Australian residential construction and council requirements
• Strong design capability and attention to detail
• Strong communication and coordination skills
