About the role

An Architecture and Interior Design firm, with four offices in Australia, is looking for a mid-level Interior Designer to join their Sydney team.

The practice is known for creating spaces in the health and education sectors that improve well-being and strengthens communities. You will be working in integrated teams of architects, interior designers and health planners.

Typical projects include major hospital redevelopments and health precinct work in NSW, alongside other public, education, and civic environments.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist in the concept and development of innovative interior design solutions for a diverse range of project types.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs and translate them into functional, visually striking designs
  • Get involved in the end-to-end design process, from initial concept development to project coordination and implementation
  • Ensure designs adhere to relevant building codes, regulations and sustainability standards
  • Oversee the work of junior designers and provide mentorship to help them develop their skills.

Required skills & experience

  • Experience of mid-large size interiors projects within a design studio or consultancy. Previous health project experience is not required.
  • Relevant qualifications in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • The ability to balance creativity, function, budget and build-ability
  • Skills in Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Comfortable taking responsibility for quality assurance and project workflows
  • Excellent design skills, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to create visually stunning and functional spaces
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present your ideas with confidence.
