Senior Architect/ Associate

Sydney, NSW · Architecture/Engineering

Join a design-led studio where architecture is used as a strategic tool to create meaningful, real-world impact. This is a practice that looks beyond the obvious, pushing design thinking forward on every project by carefully balancing big-picture strategy with finely resolved detail.

Here, projects are shaped through close collaboration with clients and communities, grounded in a deep understanding of what’s needed and a willingness to explore what’s possible. Drawing on decades of experience, the studio consistently delivers work that goes beyond expectation. Architecture that is intelligent, distinctive, and built to perform socially, environmentally and commercially.

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex multi-residential and mixed-use projects from concept through to construction, shaping design direction while maintaining continuity and integrity across every stage. You’ll work closely with Directors and senior peers in a collaborative environment where leadership is hands-on, ideas are openly tested, and design intent is protected through delivery.

You’ll have genuine influence over both design and outcomes, guiding teams, mentoring architects, and contributing to a studio culture that values curiosity, clarity and long-term thinking. It’s an ideal step for a Senior Architect ready to operate at Associate level, or an Associate seeking deeper involvement in concept-led projects with end-to-end responsibility.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll act as Project Lead on complex, design-led multi-residential projects, with responsibility from concept through to completion.

  • Lead large-scale multi-residential and mixed-use projects from concept design through DA, documentation and construction
  • Shape early design ideas and translate them into clear, buildable outcomes
  • Coordinate architecture, interiors and landscape to deliver cohesive design intent
  • Manage project scope, programme, fees, quality and client expectations
  • Lead client presentations, design workshops and key stakeholder engagement
  • Oversee documentation to ensure clarity, consistency and design integrity
  • Guide projects through construction including RFIs, site inspections and defect resolution
  • Mentor project teams and graduates, supporting both creative development and delivery

What you’ll bring

  • 8+ years’ professional experience including delivery of complex multi-residential projects
  • Registered Architect or close to registration
  • Proven experience leading projects from concept through to construction
  • Strong capability across concept design, planning, documentation and delivery phases
  • Confident client leadership skills with a considered, solutions-focused approach
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and approvals pathways
  • Solid understanding of NCC/BCA and NSW planning controls
  • A collaborative leadership style that balances direction, mentorship and accountability

Who you’ll be joining

You’ll be part of a nationally recognised, design-led practice that believes great architecture comes from listening carefully, thinking strategically, and designing beyond convention. Sustainability and social responsibility are embedded into the studio’s thinking from the earliest stages, with design decisions informed by people, place and long-term value.

The culture is open, thoughtful and genuinely collaborative. Directors remain closely involved, knowledge is shared freely, and design conversations extend beyond form into strategy, impact and opportunity. This is a studio where ideas are explored in new dimensions, and where architects are trusted to grow, lead and shape the future of the practice.

Perks

  • Lead concept-driven, city-shaping multi-residential projects
  • Clear transparent career pathways
  • Weekly design forums, CPD sessions and cross-disciplinary reviews
  • Supportive, inclusive culture with respect for work–life balance
  • Paid parental leave and access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Regular studio events, design talks, team lunches and social activities
