A well-established design practice in Sydney is seeking an experienced Associate Architect to lead the front-end phases of major urban projects. The role involves managing feasibility studies, planning assessments, and early-stage concept development across a portfolio that includes multi-residential, mixed-use, commercial, and hotel developments.
This is a delivery-focused position where the Associate will be responsible for planning strategy, stakeholder engagement, and the coordination of design submissions through relevant authority processes.
The studio operates nationally and internationally and delivers work across architecture, interior design, and master planning. The Sydney team is involved in a wide range of project types, with a consistent pipeline of work and structured support from senior leadership. Team members are encouraged to take ownership of their work and contribute across project phases.

Lead site feasibility analysis and planning investigations
Prepare and manage Planning Proposals, SSDAs, and DAs
Develop urban and architectural design responses in line with planning controls
Manage compliance with SEPP, ADG, and local development frameworks
Engage with authorities, consultants, and client representatives
Oversee early-stage Revit documentation and set up project transition to later phases
Provide support and guidance to junior team members
Architectural registration in NSW preferred
Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience with front-end design leadership
Strong working knowledge of NSW planning processes and frameworks
Demonstrated experience across multi-residential or mixed-use projects
Proficient in Revit for concept-level documentation
Confident communicator with experience coordinating across consultant teams
Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
