Kappa Executive Search has been appointed to recruit an Associate Architect for a Sydney-based architecture practice. The role focuses on the front end of the project lifecycle—feasibility, site strategy, planning assessments, and early-stage design development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing early project phases across a range of projects including multi-residential, commercial, hotel, and public work. This includes conducting feasibility studies, preparing planning proposals, coordinating SSDAs and DAs, and guiding design direction through concept development.
The practice is a design-focused, multidisciplinary studio with a national profile. It operates with a collaborative structure and has a consistent project pipeline across sectors. Employees work closely with senior leadership and have access to clear development frameworks.

Lead feasibility and early-stage planning activities
Prepare and manage Planning Proposals, SSDAs, and DAs
Undertake planning compliance assessments and manage authority engagement
Develop and direct early-stage Revit documentation
Liaise with clients, consultants, and planning authorities
Support junior staff and contribute to team coordination
Architectural registration in NSW preferred
8+ years of relevant professional experience
Strong knowledge of SEPP, ADG, and NSW planning controls
Demonstrated experience in feasibility and front-end design leadership
Proficient in Revit (early-phase documentation)
Experience in multi-residential or mixed-use projects
Permanent residency or Australian citizenship required
