Associate Quantity Surveyor - Team & Business Development Lead

📍 Location: Adelaide - CBD, Hybrid (2 days WFH if preferred)
💼 Employment Type: Full-Time
💰 Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 plus Superannuation

You will join a nationally established PQS firm with a strong presence across government and private sectors, delivering projects spanning infrastructure, commercial, defence, health, education, and civic developments. Known for its practical, delivery focused approach and long standing client partnerships, the business offers both stability and the opportunity to shape the direction of its Adelaide practice.

Based in the CBD with flexible hybrid arrangements, this role combines strategic leadership, business development responsibility, and hands on project delivery.

Your Role in the Business

As an Associate, you will operate at both project and practice level, balancing client delivery with team leadership and growth initiatives.

  • Leading end to end client engagements from scoping through to completion

  • Providing cost planning, procurement advice, and commercial oversight

  • Developing and expanding relationships with existing and new clients

  • Managing bids, proposals, and account growth activities

  • Overseeing team resourcing, mentoring, and quality assurance

  • Delivering high quality cost plans, valuations, reports, and final accounts

  • Managing risks, variations, claims, and commercial performance

  • Representing the firm in industry forums and networking activities

What You Bring

This opportunity suits an experienced Senior or Associate QS who is commercially driven and confident leading people as well as projects.

  • Strong consultancy experience across pre and post contract services

  • Demonstrated success in client relationship management and business development

  • Proven leadership capability including mentoring and performance management

  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder skills

  • Chartered status (AIQS or RICS) or well advanced toward it

  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative culture

  • A proactive mindset with a genuine sense of ownership
